“Add Me to Your Hate Map” – Rep. Lance Gooden Torches SPLC CEO For Protecting Antifa Terrorists And Jane’s Revenge Church Arsonists While Labeling Turning Point USA And Family Research Council As ‘Hate Groups’

In a blistering exchange Monday during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s partisan influence, Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX) exposed the radical left’s favorite smear machine for exactly what it is: a hypocritical, discredited attack dog that shields actual domestic terrorists and violent extremists while smearing mainstream conservatives and Christians.
During questioning, Gooden highlighted that the SPLC has included groups such as Alliance Defending Freedom, Turning Point USA, and the Family Research Council on its hate map during the Biden-Harris administration.
“During the Biden-Harris administration, the SPLC included many mainstream conservative groups in their hate map, including Alliance Defending Freedom, Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA, and Family Research Council. To your knowledge, did the SPLC include Antifa, which is an actual domestic terrorist organization, in its hate group?” Gooden asked.
SPLC CEO Brian Fair dodged hard, claiming the SPLC “does not have a domestic terrorist list” and that their designations are based on “statements that they and their leaders make.”
Gooden wasn’t having it.
“Is Antifa on your hate map?”
When Fair again pivoted to the FBI, Gooden cut him off: “So they’re not.”
He then turned to Jane’s Revenge — the radical pro-abortion group that openly claimed responsibility for firebombings, arsons, and vandalism targeting pregnancy resource centers and Catholic churches across the country starting in May 2022.
“Has SPLC labeled the radical left group Jane’s Revenge as a hate group? … Have you all designated that on your hate map?”
Fair fell back on the SPLC’s self-created criteria: groups that “vilify, demonize individuals based on immutable characteristics” or push “anti-government conspiracy theories.”
Gooden delivered the knockout:
“So destroying pregnancy resource centers and Catholic churches would not qualify as hate under your definition? You guys are okay with that? But God forbid Turning Point holds a rally, that’s considered hate, but destroying a Catholic church or pregnancy resource is not? …
Under your criteria, Turning Point USA, Family Research Council, and other conservative Christian groups are considered hate groups. Antifa and Jane’s Revenge that burns down Catholic churches and pregnancy resource centers, those are not hate groups. It sounds like you’re really proud of that process. I’ll move on because I frankly think it’s disgusting.
And you know what, I’d actually ask for you to add me to your hate map. I’d be honored to be on it. It sounds like I’d be in great company.”
